"I really can't understate how important this character is to me...he's so deeply autistic-coded in so many ways: his struggles to understand the people around him, and to know his own needs and desires; his earnest (and often naive) excitement at the things that excite him most...but also his sadness at constantly getting things wrong, his self-loathing at hurting others when all he wants to do is help; his inability to consistently mask often gets him in trouble...he makes mistake after mistake, but beneath each fault he has so much love in him, and though he's escaped the role and world he was born into, he's still figuring out who he is and what he's capable of. He's the best representation of myself on a screen that I've ever found, or could hope to find. (Perhaps though, the other side of the Stede coin is Aziraphale, but that's a post for another time)
So there he is, a little scared, a little sad, but moving forwards anyway."
